I sometimes wonder if any words can fully express what it is we feel when we make a special connection with an animal and in ways that touch and warm from inside. A connection is made each time we care and love an animal, meet one, see, hear, feel and touch one. Animals are our friend, our solace, our comfort, our teacher, our joy, our family, our messenger and so much more that words can at times fall short on what it is they give, provide and share to humanity on many levels. Animals live in their world, a world that is not human but when our worlds meet there can be an inner bond made. As well as a physical encounter, a soul connection is felt and we are given opportunities to be with them peacefully throughout our lives. A world without animals would be quite a different one and one where we would not have the gifted times of being with them on a physical and soul level. They have an innate gift of breathing new life into an environment and our heart. Their presence whether close or from a distance, they have the ability to teach effortlessly that sparks something inside and we naturally want to be with them on a deeper level of understanding, curiosity and heartfelt compassion.
Love of animals is a universal impulse, a common ground on which all of us may meet. By loving and understanding animals, perhaps we humans shall come to understand each other.' - Dr Louis J. Camuti
